Current Event

Red-light cameras that have stood at three intersections in Poway since 2005 started coming down Thursday once plenty of people started complaining about them. if you were to get caught by one of the camera, youd be fined 565 dollars. Crashes declined during the test period, compared to the six months before the cameras were turned off. In October, the council voted to end its contract with Redflex Traffic Systems Inc., the company that operated the program. This week, the process of physically removing the cameras began. Cameras at the intersections of Pomerado Road and Poway Road, and Community Road and Scripps Poway Parkway, came down Thursday. Cameras at the intersection of Pomerado Road and Ted Williams Parkway were scheduled for removal today/

Photo Essay

This is Lauren my best friend and I met her in the beginning of Freshman year during volleyball season. Although at the beginning of the season we weren't very close as time went on we became closer and closer. She became such an important person in my life who I was able to tell her anything and everything. That summer we went on a vacation together to Puerto Penasco with my family to the Mayan Palace where we pretty much able to do anything we wanted. Since then she has become like a sister to me and the only reason I look forward to volleyball season is because I get to play with my best friend!
