Book Report

I'm doing my book report on the book, SURFING by Tim Nunn which is full of different action shots of Surfers or locations that are known for the perfect waves. The first of the locations are The Americas which have many popular spots such as the California, Hawaii, the Caribbeans, and Brazil. There are many amazing pictures in this book that were taken in Hawaii that capture the action of surfing perfectly, or just the pictures of the waves themselves are perfectly timed. The next location that the book uses is Australasia which consists of many places that are commonly known for the sport of surfing such as the Australian states, New Zealand, and Southern Africa. One of my favorite places I saw in this book was Queenland because the ocean itself looked beautiful and the photographers captured its tropical essence. The Indian Ocean is known to be the best place to go surfing which is why so many photographers go there to capture their pictures. The last location displayed in this book was Europe where many surfers go to the British Isles, Southern France, Atlantic Islands, and Northern Africa such as Morocco. I think that this book used photographs that captured what the sport of surfing really looks like. The photographs are so close up and I think it's amazing how the photographers are able to get so close to the surfers. You can easily see the facial expression of the surfers as they go under the waves and the concentration on their faces is very prominent. In my opinion I feel like this book had amazing photographs and they really were able to show the beauty of all the different places they used.

Snope notes

 Shopping Bags
Examples of shopping bags are one with a picture of a gun on it making it seem as if the holder has a gun in their hand.  has a person jumping making it seem as if the persons doing jump rope.Another one has strings that look like they're necklaces. Another is of a girl's mouth opened around the handle  of the bag so that it looks like someone is putting their hand in her mouth.  Another is one that goes over your shoulder and hangs at your hips. It has a picture of a girl in her underwear so when you're holding it, it looks like it's your body.

 3-D sidewalk chalk
Some more of the photos on this website are of chalk paintings on the sidewalk people drew that look 3-D. From wherever you stand, it creates a different perspective on the artwork.

 Rice Field Murals
Another set of pictures show murals created in rice fields. Some of the crop is different colors so it makes a picture. One of them is of a knight on his horse, and there's one of a Japanese couple.

Better Picture Notes

Step 1: Change your cameras resolution to the highest possible. If you have a smaller quality then change it to fine quality.
Step 2: Change your settings to automatic, if there are problems with the outcome of the picture then change some settings manually.
Step 3: Try to bring your camera everywhere to find more opportunities to take photographs especially outside. Remember to always carry spare batteries.
Step 4: Always keep your lens free from obstruction. Set your white balance on your camera. Also try to keep your ISO speed slower to prevent "noisy" pictures.
Step 5: Make sure you plan out your photo frame before you actually take the shot. Get rid of any distractions but you do not necessarily have to follow these guidelines: Don't be scared to zoom in, try new angles, focus on only certain parts, or try new ways to balance your camera settings.
Step 6: Avoid blurry pictures by: Keeping still, use a tripod if necessary, find different ways to avoid your camera shaking, and lastly try to relax and don't shake when pushing the shutter button.
Step 7: Try to avoid red eye by taking your pictures in a well lit area and if needed point the flash towards their forehead.
Step 8: Stay organized by looking at your photos and make sure you practice, practice, practice.
